Barrow girl Kirsty Shanks, a 34-year-old project manager at BAE Systems, married Gareth Davies, a 29-year-old information systems technician at BAE Systems on Saturday 30 April 2016.

After meeting in a crowd at a music festival, Barrow-born Kirsty proved irresistible for Wolverhampton lad Gareth, who moved up north to join her.

How they met: At V Festival in 2010 watching the band Kasabian.

Proposal: Gareth proposed to Kirsty on the Cliffs of Moher during a holiday to Galway in the West of Ireland in July 2014.

Venue: Kendal Registry Office followed by Watermillock Village Hall, Ullswater.

Theme: Outdoor Music Festival.

Bride's Outfit: Custom Indian silk and lace ivory gown made by the mother of the bride, Heather.

Groomsmen: Richard Simons (best man), Hywel Herbert, Beefy Herbert and Aled Evans.

Bridesmaids: Holly Nuttall (maid of honour), Jennifer Curtis, Becca Wilson and Rebekah Nuttall.

Flowers: Katie from Made in Flowers, Kendal.

Transport: The couple walked to the registry office from the Riverside Hotel, Kendal. Later, a classic 1967 Blackpool double decker bus took the wedding party up to Ullswater supplied by www.classicbus.org.uk.

Reception: A Waterfront Fish and Chip Van supplied by KK catering, a hog roast supper supplied by Phil and Sue at The Travelling Pig Mobile Bar and supplied by Nick from www.Bars2U.co.uk.

Table settings: Pot wellington boots filled with flowers grown in the bride's gran's garden.

Favours: A festival survival pack for each guest containing sun glasses, a poncho, a lanyard, wristband, drinks tokens, a can of lager and a can of cider.

Cake: A festival scene cake made by the mother of the groom.

First Dance: Walk the Moon – Shut up and Dance.

Entertainment: Live Music all day from local singers and bands including Kate Oates, Em and Suze, Ukelear Fusion, The Coulton Bros and Shed Sessions. Sound and lighting was managed for all acts by Bryn Tyson of NTProAudio.

Honeymoon: The couple had the trip of a lifetime spending four weeks backpacking around Thailand.
