Barrow couple Chloe Alexandra Greenway, a 25-year-old hull mechanical designer, and Matthew Thomas Rollinson, a 27-year-old electrical engineer, were married in a stunning nautical wedding on Saturday June 4.

How they met: The couple met on the bus going to senior school but only started dating during the summer of 2012 after re-connecting on Twitter.

Proposal: Matthew got down on one knee in March 2015 when the couple were in Las Vegas. They took the Grand Canyon helicopter trip and once they were down in the Canyon Matthew popped the question in front of a stunning backdrop. Chloe said: "I didn’t have a clue about the proposal at all, such a shock. I’ll never forget it, it was perfect and it was lovely to be able to celebrate afterwards with our family and friends at Downtown Vegas."

Venue: The Netherwood Hotel in Grange. The couple selected this hotel because of its beautiful grounds and gorgeous interior.

Theme: A nautical theme. This came about because both Chloe and Matthew see the other as their anchor. They had a stamp made with an anchor motif with their initials either side which were used on almost everything they made to bring everything together. To compliment the nautical theme the colour scheme was cobalt blue, white and powder pink.

As well as having nautical decoration the couple also had a beach hut themed photobooth provided by Your Vintage Day, Silverdale.

A big jar with slips of paper to leave a "message in the bottle" for the couple to read on their first anniversary. A knot board game, which consisted of knots made with white and blue rope and nailed on to a wooden board and we provided some rope for guests to have a go.

Bride's Outfit: Chloe wore a beautiful Erin dress by Ronald Joyce bought from Eternity by Nina, with Carvela Kurt Geiger shoes in pal pink with diamantes.

Something old: A bouquet double picture frame pendant which held pictures of Chloe's mother’s and father’s parents on their wedding days.

Something new: Dress and shoes.

Something borrowed: A sapphire white gold necklace from Chloe's mother.

Something blue: Bespoke sapphire earrings.

Groomsmen: Samuel Hall (best man). Adam Mayor, Ross Huddleston and Craig Adams.

Page boy: Harry Andrews (Matthew's little cousin).

Bridesmaids: Tori Kendall and Chloe Standing (maids of honour), Zara Tucker, Aimee Rollinson and Sherri Bell. Dresses were from Eternity by Nina.

Flowers: Chloe's bouquet was a mix of blues and white flowers and the bridesmaids' bouquets were white and soft pink avalanche roses all bespoke from The Grange Flower Service.

Transport: A friend provided his Morgan Aero 8 for photographs which looked beautiful.

Reception: The reception was held in the Deakin Suite in the Netherwood. Nautical theme tablecentres were organised and set up by Chloe's aunt, Chrissy Haughin. The centrepiece comprised of a rearranged photoframe filled with sand and shells, three-tier floating candles and a wooden anchor displaying the table name. The top table had a great fishing net draped along the front with shells attached, a great lantern with a pillar candle in at either end of the table, with a life buoy hung on the front.

Cake: A rather unconventional cake made from cheese provided by the Sillfield Farm cheese stall in Barrow Market.

A bottom tier of Lancashire and Gloucester, a middle tier of Gloucester with chive and onion, a quarter smoked cheese & quarter chilli cheese and the final tier was feta.

First Dance: John Legend – All of Me.

Entertainment: Papercranes played out on the terrace overlooking the stunning scenery between the ceremony and the reception. They were organised later on in the plans due to the loss of a friend who was originally organised to play, Dean Zaccarini. The Papercranes, who were great friends of Dean, played in his honour which meant a great deal to the couple.

During the evening there was a full session from Shed Sessions.

Honeymoon: The couple are currently complete decorating the house they bought in March 2015 and so decided against a big honeymoon. However, they took a romantic minimoon to the Cranleigh Hotel in Bowness using vouchers from their dear friends.

Photographer: Lorraine Oates.
