A SMALL community is set to overturn an archaic law later today which bans women in Norfolk from removing their hats.
The 800-year-old rule is a relic from days gone by but places across the country, including Cumbria, are still bound to these strange traditions.
In 2011, Carlisle City Council banned its employees from discussing non work-related subjects such as holidays or the weather.
Employees were told to clock off to discuss such topics before clocking back on again to continue with their work.
Bizarre rules can be found by the bucket load so to celebrate the liberty of hat-wearing women in Norfolk, we've compiled a list of our top 10 most wacky laws.
