MORE snapshots from World Book Day show pupils across south Cumbria enjoying themselves in a variety of different costumes and guises.
Greengate Junior School, in Barrow, followed up the main event with a 'relaxing readathon' where pupils could read their favourite book while nibbling on a bar of chocolate.
Deputy head, Paula Hillman, said: "Pupils dressed up as their favourite book character and we had a catwalk where everyone could parade their costumes.
"Year 6 pupils have also been reading the The Outlaw VarJak Paw and are absolutely absorbed by it."

Pennington C of E Primary School, in Ulverston, also got in on the action, with pupils donning more traditional costumes of Red Riding Hood and Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz .
Amanda Exley, a teacher at the school, said: "We had a whole day of book-themed activities going on in every classroom, including Noah and his wife coming to build an ark with the Reception and Year 6 children.
"Everyone made a really big effort."
Pupils at Windermere School were this year challenged to read a story from a different culture, with more senior students helping the younger ones.
