A replacement has been found for a Cumbria Animal and Hen Rescue charity gig after one of the booked band's suffered a horrific crash. 

All-girl punk band Lady Rage, who are London based, were set to come to Barrow for the first time on April 26 to play Cloud 9, The Lounge.

The event, Roo Stars Rock Fest, is to raise funds for the animal rescue which takes in every kind of animal - apart from dogs.

Unfortunately singer Siren Sycho and her fiancé were involved in a crash.

A statement from the band said: "Lady Rage regrettably have had to cancel the gig on the 26th April at Cloud Nine due to our lead singer, Siren Sycho, having a horrendous car crash a couple weeks ago.

"This was our only mode of transport plus our driver was the one driving the car and will not be able to do the fourteen hours of driving to get to and from the gig."

The statement said the band will only take on nearby gigs for up to three months.

"We appreciate, this isn’t ideal and we wish Eddy, the rest of the bands on the line-up and the venue the best of luck," added the statement.

Fallen are the only Evanescence tribute act in the UK and will be filling in as a replacement.

Owner of Cumbria Animal and Hen Rescue Eddy White said: "We are sad to announce that Lady Rage is unable to perform due to an RTA and we wish them a speedy recovery

"We are pleased and exited to announce the UK premier's Evanescence tribute band Fallen have managed to squeeze us in.

"They will be performing all the hits of Evanescence over the decades live in Barrow.

"They have never performed in Cumbria so this is definitely one you don't want to miss."
