A Ghost tribute act, a Riot Girl punk band and electronic metallers are among some of the acts set to come to Barrow in April.

Ghost UK, Lady Rage, Neon Oracle, Static Attic and Silly Peach are set to perform at Roo Stars Rock Fest on April 26.

The gig is in aid of Cumbria Animal and Hen Rescue, based in Barrow which takes on all kinds of animals - apart from dogs.

Staff at the rescue centre help abandoned and unwanted animals find their forever homes as well as offering advice.

The rescue puts on events as a way to raise money for the animals and often invites acts that have never been to Barrow before.

Eddy White, who runs the centre, said: "Cumbria Animal Rescue has done it again. They have managed to secure two bands who have never played in Barrow - or even Furness before - Ghost and Lady Rage.

"Ghost UK are the UK's only Ghost tribute band and will be appearing in Barrow in April.

"They will also be supported by the amazing Lady Rage as well as Neon Oracle Static Attic and Silly Peach."

Ghost UK are a tribute act to the famous Swedish theatrical rockers Ghost.

Support act Lady Rage are a London-based all-female riot girl punk band who will be offering rock riffs with grungy undertones.

The four-piece were described as ''the heaviest sound in high heels" by Planet Mosh.

Hailing from Liverpool are hybrid electronic metal five-piece act Neon Oracle.

Rock/metal band Static Attic, who are based around Mansfield and Chesterfield, will also be performing after opening act Silly Peach who will be offering 'a nostalgic symbiosis of disco and hip hop.'

The gig will take place at Cloud 9, The Lounge, on Dalkeith Street.

The tickets are £15 and can be obtained by calling 07527 366984.
