HAIRY Biker Dave Myers is set to make a long-awaited return to television this weekend.

The chef will be appearing on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen tomorrow morning at 10am.

Dave pulled out of several public appearances this year due to an ongoing battle against cancer.

Barrow-born Dave was diagnosed with cancer in April this year, beginning a course of chemotherapy to battle the disease.

He announced to fans in May that he would be taking time off work, with Hairy Biker co-star Si King attending a number of festivals on his own.

Dave revealed that he hadn't 'been too well', describing the year as a ‘write off’ but reassuring fans that 'the prognosis is okay’.

But now ready to return to screens, Dave wished everybody a happy Christmas before announcing his appearance on Saturday Kitchen.

He said: “I’ve got some great news, I’m coming back on the telly with my best friend on Saturday morning on Saturday Kitchen.

“We want to see you then, when we cook our coffee and hazelnut cake which we have developed for Christmas, it’s lovely.

“I’m beyond excited!

“Saturday Kitchen, this week, 10am, BBC.”

When speaking to BBC Radio Cumbria earlier this year, Dave described co-star and long-time best friend Si as 'amazing'.

Dave said: “He has been amazing; we are like brothers.

“The very first week before all the treatment started you have a week of going round hospitals and bits and pieces, it’s enormous pressure on Lil my partner, but Si was the one who drove us around for a week, hospital to hospital, London in and out, in and out.

“There was a week when Lil had to go away so Si came to see me and take me to the hospital so that’s got nothing to do with the telly - he batch cooked for my freezer!”
