An 'eclectic' range of bands will be performing across multiple venues in Barrow this week.
Barrow Music Weekend will build upon last year's pilot event that happened not long after Covid restrictions were lifted.
Barrow Music is the body running the event, which is a collaboration between The Forum, Barrow Borough Council, South Lakes Rock School and various local organisations such as Barrow Underground Music Society, BarrowFull and Barrow Business Improvement District.
The project secured £28,000 from the Arts Council following a successful bid.
Joanne Marwood, an events manager from The Forum and one of the lead organisers of Barrow Music Weekend said: "We are lucky to have such a vibrant music scene in Barrow, with several venues and festivals promoting bands from the area and out-of-town too. Everyone enjoys seeing live music, whatever age, so fingers crossed things will continue to grow and Barrow will build upon its reputation as a live music destination."

Although the biggest name to go to Barrow this weekend, Twin Atlantic, will be ticketed, lots of the events will be subsidised allowing locals to see high-quality performances for cheap or for free.
Joanne said: "We are offering an eclectic program of live music and performances across the town alongside a music industry and education conference to inspire young people, raise aspirations and provide opportunities to learn about career and leisure pathways into the creative music industry."
As it stands, the lineup for the weekend is as follows:
Thursday, September 29: Voo Doo Radio, Electric Fiction, Indigo Youth, Band in Dystopia
Friday, September 30: Twin Atlantic, CHNCR, Pantasy Steel Band, Graffiti Classics, Hardwicke Cirus, Stance vs. Acme Bass Company, Wendigo, Incanage, Abbey Road, Aerobees, Insular
