THE mix of professionals and celebrities as dance couples continues to keep Strictly Come Dancing as one of the best-watched programmes on TV and in 2007 some of the show's leading figures came to Barrow.
The Mail, on May 15, noted: "Reality TV is the entertainment story of the decade.
"So it's easy to see why Strictly Come Dancing stars strutting their stuff at Barrow's Forum 28 should be so popular.
"Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace delighted their fans in a sell-out show.
"The pair performed the ballroom and Latin steps that brought them fame on the programme, including their award-winning tango."
Blackpool Tower Ballroom resident dance teacher Jason Parkinson hosted the Barrow event. Also there was Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova.
There was also a chance to watch the moves of the Dance with Passion junior dance formation team.
