PUPILS at Barrow's Victoria Infant School had fun planting hundreds of daffodil bulbs around their playground back in 2001.
The Mail on November 5 noted: "B&Q environmental officer Martin Roberts was on hand at the Oxford Street school to offer advice while donating 320 bulbs to the project.
"Headteacher Sue O'Neil said pupils were helping to brighten up the school yard while learning about the environment."
She told The Mail: "We are just trying to cheer up the environment of the grounds to ensure the school is not just concrete and metal."
The school had received a £5,000 National Lottery grant to spruce up the school exterior.
There were plans for a large pirate ship in the school yard as part of a new adventure playground.
