Year 5 and 6 pupils from Askam Village School, Chetwynde, North Walney, South Walney Juniors, Roose, St Columba’s, St James and Vickerstown all took part in the opening round of fixtures at Pulse.
St James made a perfect start to their campaign, winning two matches and keeping two clean sheets. They defeated Chetwynde 4-0 and followed up with a 1-0 success against Roose.
Chetwynde bounced back from their opening defeat by overcoming Askam 2-0, the Villagers having previous fallen to a 4-0 loss against Vickerstown.
South Walney won the battle of the two sides from the island, overcoming South Walney 2-0, while the other match saw Roose and St Columba’s draw 1-1.
The remaining fixtures will be played on the 3G pitches on Wednesday, November 2 and Wednesday, November 23.
Results: Askam 0 Vickerstown 4, Chetwynde 0 St James 4, Roose 1 St Columba’s 1, North Walney 0 South Walney 2, Askam 0 Chetwynde 2, St James 1 Roose 0.
