CROOKLANDS Casuals put in a good performance against ambitious Longridge Town but were unable to take any points from their West Lancs Premier Division game at Longlands Park on Saturday.

Cassies started well and took the lead through recent signing from Askam, Callum Rayner, who had an excellent game.

The visitors drew level from the penalty spot through the league’s top scorer Brad Carsley and it remained level a half-time. Early in the second half former Kendal Town manager, Lee Ashcroft, who has also turned out for Holker Old Boys this season, scored what proved to be the winning goal.

Longridge finished fourth while Crooklands are 14th and visit one of the sides below them, Burnley United, next Saturday in their final game.

Result of the day was at Park Vale, where a Vickerstown side severely depleted due to Steve Brennan’s stag weekend in Benidorm managed to hold Charnock Richard to a 2-2 draw, which cost the visitors the title.

Dave Swarbrick scored both goals for Dave Round’s side and the goals were toasted by Blackpool Wren Rovers who were crowned Premier Division champions.

In Division One it was a day to forget for GSK Ulverston Rangers as they lost 7-1 at home to Lytham Town. Gav Butler gave them an early lead but the visitors led 2-1 at half-time and ran riot in the second half.

Swarthmoor Social completed their season with a 4-1 defeat at Division Two champions CMB. Sean Nicholson scored for Swarthmoor.

Millom lost the Division Two Challenge Cup Final 1-0 against Bolton County to a late goal having played the majority of the game with 10 men after Matty Towler was sent off for a professional foul early in the game.

Cartmel won 3-0 against Caton United on Thursday and 8-0 against Storeys on Saturday and they need a point from tonight’s home game with Trimpell and Bare Rangers to secure the runners-up spot in the North Lancs Premier Division.

Kirkby United extended their lead at the top of the Furness Premier League Riflemans Garage Premier Division table with a 2-1 victory over Holker Old Boys reserves thanks to a brace from Paul Cleasby. Brad Hubbold scored for Holker.

Third-placed Hawcoat Park reserves warmed up for tonight’s Terry Clinton Memorial Trophy Final against Barrow Celtic (Longlands Park, 6.30pm kick-off) with a comfortable 3-0 win over Furness Cavaliers reserves.

The game was even early on but sub Nathan Reid put Hawcoat ahead in the 35th minute and second half goals from Ryan Magtoto and Brandon Collins finished the job off.

Haverigg United won 4-2 at Redwaters against Britannia with goals from John Chmiel 2, Luke Chmiel and Andrew Walker, with Liam Holmes scoring both for the Brit.

Swarthmoor Social reserves and Bootle drew 2-2 at Park Road. Jack Moore and a Josh Price penalty ensured Swarthmoor are safe from relegation in their first season in the top flight while Joe Capstick and Andrew Knowles replied for Bootle.

Bootle now know that Millom reserves can’t afford to lose any of their remaining three games if they are to overtake Bootle.

Millom are still giving everything they’ve got and on Friday night star striker Carl Waters broke the club’s goal-scoring record with a hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Furness Rovers reserves. He has now scored 391 goals in 406 games, overtaking the legendary Brian Moore. Other scorers were Tom McDonald and Tyler Maxwell Kelly.

Barrow Wanderers drew 3-3 with GSK Ulverston Rangers reserves but are now consigned to finishing in the bottom two.

Wanderers’ scorers were Keiron Mason, Nathan Collett and Sam Johnson with Ronan Simpson, Josh Cronin and Sam Pinnegor on target for Rangers.

Walney Island reserves secured the runners-up position in Premier Tiles Division One with a 4-0 win at Barrow Celtic reserves. Scorers were James Bailey, Brad Speake and Dan Turner, 2. Dalton United reserves and Crooklands Casuals reserves drew 2-2 at Railway Meadow. Scott McCabe and Phil Rigg scored for Dalton.

Haverigg United finished their season on a high with a 3-2 win over Hawcoat Park A through goals from Gavin Scudamore, Mitchell Stocks and Wink Birkett.

The Division Two season finished with a party at Coniston for Ormsgill North End. The game ended 1-1 with Tom Dodd scoring after three minutes for Ormsgill but Coniston levelled through Brad Carroll, recently released by Barrow AFC.

The hosts put on a barbeque after the game as Ormsgill celebrated winning the title.

The league’s most dependable match official Darren Gardner completed his set of FPL venues for the season by running the line for Ormsgill.
