BARROW AFC boss Darren Edmondson was beaming with delight following his side's 1-0 home victory over Lincoln City tonight.

The Bluebirds prevailed thanks to Andy Cook's 56th-minute winner.

Edmondson praised the contribution of all his players and said: "They are all good victories, but I thought the performance was very good as well.

"There are always going to be near-misses and nervous play when you play against a team like Lincoln, who consistently do the same thing minute after minute.

"They put it under your crossbar and you've got to dig deep.

"But really, if we look at chances created, then we should have been home and dry with at least 20 minutes left in the game."

Meanwhile, Edmondson revealed that Anthony Wilson is in line to make his first-team return this weekend when AFC will host Aldershot.

The striker has not played this season as he has been recovering from the knee surgery he underwent in the summer.

Wilson has completed four or five good training sessions having been running for the past three weeks.

Loan striker Sam Cosgrove has been recalled by his parent club Wigan Athletic, who want him to play some games for one of their sides.

Cosgrove's initial one-month loan deal was due to expire on Saturday.

And with Wilson closing in on a return, it does not look likely that Cosgrove will head back to Holker Street, at least not in the short term.

Although Edmondson added: "With a youth loan the player can play for both teams.

"So there are maybe some negotiations to go with that one but I know that they are initially recalling him tomorrow morning."
