Barrow AFC will have midfielder Jason Taylor available for tomorrow's match at Ebbsfleet United, although he could be set for an absence sooner rather than later.

That's nothing to do with the man who's been wearing the captain's armband being one yellow card away from a suspension, which is the case despite some claims he had picked up his fifth booking against Solihull Moors last Saturday.

It is more down the fact that Taylor will soon become a father for the first time and manager Ian Evatt will let him be around for the birth of his child, even if that means he'll have to miss his influence on the field.

Evatt said: "Joel Dixon and not Jason was booked for one of the yellows, so he's available to play but obviously his wife is due to have a baby any time now and it's his first child.

"That's obviously something we have to look at because, as a father myself, I don't want him to miss the birth of his first child.

"If it comes to it then he'll be free to go and be with his family because sometimes family is more important than football and we can adjust, adapt and carry on."

With every outfield player being fit to play at Ebbsfleet, Barrow will be heading to Stonebridge Road in a much better position than their last visit, when they were without eight members of their squad, with most of them either centre-backs or strikers.

A lack of firepower was what cost them in that 1-0 defeat last November, but that shouldn't be a problem this time with the amount of options open to them.

Evatt said: "We're all fine, which makes my job that bit more difficult because we've got some fantastic choices, not just just for the starting 11 but for the squad of 16.

"We're very big on gym work and conditioning because you have to be fit to play football and if you have a slight deficiency anywhere in your body then we'll work very hard to get that stronger and get you up to speed."
