INJURED duo Ross Hannah and Dan Rowe are close to Barrow AFC returns this weekend – with one of the Bluebirds' long-term casualties also making strong progress.

Both Hannah and Rowe sat out last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Eastleigh after picking up minor injuries in the 2-1 win over Tranmere Rovers four days earlier.

Hannah tweaked his hamstring and Rowe hurt his knee against Rovers, but both were taken off quickly and physio Sean Riley has been working hard with them.

Rowe returned to training earlier this week, with Hannah not far behind, and both are in contention to feature when Dagenham and Redbridge head to Holker Street on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

“Both of them have come on leaps and bounds,” said Barrow manager Paul Cox. “We've got our fingers crossed that both of them will be available for Saturday, but it's going to be based on the next day or so.

“Rowey probably has a bit more of a chance than Ross. Rowey has been in training and he has a good chance of being fit for Saturday, but we are keeping fingers crossed for Rosco as well.

“You'd like to think Rowey will definitely be back, and there's a good chance if Ross doesn't make it, he will be all right for Tuesday.”

While Rowe and Hannah have been absent from the side for just a week, midfielder Andy Parry has been sidelined since September after undergoing knee ligament surgery for a problem picked up in training.

However, Cox reported strong progress from the former Luton Town man, who has been at the FA's St George's Park for treatment this wee, and hopes to see him in action again before the season is over.

“Andy's been at St George's this week,” said Cox. “He's been in non-contact training with the ball and hopefully we can step that up very soon.

“I think we will see Andy Parry before the end of the season. He has made a remarkable recovery and that is testament to the hard work he has put in.”
