BARROW AFC’S Junior Tiensia admits it was good to be back in action even if it wasn’t a winning return.
The defender played his first game in 427 days in the 1-0 defeat away to League Two leaders Walsall at the weekend.
Despite the result, Tiensia felt the Bluebirds were on top for large parts of the clash.
And he told the club’s official YouTube Channel it was good to pull on a Barrow shirt again.
He said: “I feel like I was a little rusty, I’m not going to lie.
“But it is a step forward, do you know what I mean.
“It was my first 90 minutes in 427 days, and I am just hoping to build on it now wherever I’m needed, whether that be a wing back or left centre-half.
“Now I just want to be available to play.
“I had a bit of nerves coming into the game as I hadn’t played in a long time, but as the game went on I felt like I built my confidence up and I grew into the game.”
Tiensia also praised the travelling Bluebirds fans for their support.
He added: “You can never knock the fans. Week in week out, they come and back us no matter where we are they follow us, and we thank them for coming.”
