FORMER Barrow AFC loanee is set to line up against the Bluebirds this season.

The 30-year-old scored seven goals in 17 appearances for Barrow, while on loan from Burton Albion last term.

Now the striker has agreed terms to join Salford City on a full-term deal when the transfer window opens on Friday.

The centre forward has scored more than 100 goals in 440 career appearances.

He scored twice against the Ammies last season in a 5-3 win for City against Pete Wild’s Bluebirds.

Having won promotion with Morecambe in 2020-21, he says he is hoping to achieve that again in the red of Salford after agreeing a two-year deal.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “I’m made up, I spoke to the Gaffer and since that I just wanted to get it done.

“I’ve had a good chat with him, I have played against him and his teams in the past many times, and his teams have always been setup well, strong footballing teams, so to have the opportunity to come and play for him now is a pleasure, and something that I really wanted to get done.

“The way the club is moving forward, I think it is going to be a good year for us, I really do, and I am excited to be a part of it.

“Don’t get me wrong we’ve got to earn our right to do so as well, and I’d like to think that we are going to do that.

“We’ve all got it in our head, we want to be up there, that is why we do it.

“We want to be up there and there is no reason as to why we can’t so we’ll look back in a year’s time and hopefully we’ve done it.”
