DALTON pulled off a fine 32-26 win at Chorley Borough in the North West Men’s League.

The Kelland Park side turned the game on its head after trailing 18-4 at half-time.

They got their act together and played fast open rugby to run out winners.

Tries came from Ross Bird (2), Matty Heaton, Jordan Jones, Pat Kelly and Elliot Bibby with four goals from the boot of Kelly. Bird was named man of the match.

In the Conference, it was not a good day for local teams as both Millom and Barrow Island lost.

Barrow Island travelled to Dewsbury Celtic with confidence following their big home win over Mytons the previous week.

However, although they were in contention at the break with the scores locked at 4-4 they  failed to add to their tally as Celtic ran out 32-4 winners.

Fin Dutton-Rosconie crossed for a consolation try.

Mytons recovered from their heavy defeat by the Island as they defeated Millom 44-24, the Woolybacks trailed 22-12 at half time.

Tries for the Devonshire Road side, came from Jonathan Hodgson (2), Connor Terrill and Daniel Hartley, with Lee Postlethwaite adding four goals.

A heavy pitch put paid to any action for Hindpool Tigers and  Roose Pioneer at Brisbane Park.

Ulverston’s game at Wigan St Cuthbert’s was also a victim of a heavy pitch.
