BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild has said he is 'frustrated' after striker Jamie Proctor accepted an FA charge following his straight red card against AFC Wimbledon.

The 31-year-old received a straight red card in the Bluebirds' 2-0 defeat against Johnnie Jackson's Wombles in the 87th minute following an 'off-the-ball incident'.

Following this incident, the Barrow forward has also been charged by the FA with it being alleged that Proctor 'acted in a manner which was improper towards a match official'.

Proctor was given until Friday, February 16 to respond to this charge, however, ahead of Barrow's trip to Salford, Wild detailed that the forward has accepted the charge.

He said: "He is frustrated. We reviewed the clip before we accepted the charge and sadly Jamie has not done a lot wrong, however, you have to prove with the FA laws that beyond any doubt he has not done anything wrong.

"With the footage that is available we can't really do that so Jamie didn't have anywhere to go with the charge and has had to take the charge.

"It is frustrating because it is a big time of year and you want all your experienced players around you at this time of year."

After accepting the FA charge Proctor will continue to serve his three-match ban, with the first match of this being Barrow's 2-1 midweek defeat at Holker Street against Forest Green Rovers.

However, whilst the bluebirds await the outcome of the FA process, Wild admitted that he is unsure how long he could be without his experienced striker.

He said: "He has the three games for now and we will see where that takes us."
