MIDFIELDER Sam Foley said he was pleased with his side's disciplined display as Barrow AFC picked up another point on the road following their 1-1 draw away to Notts County.

Cole Stockton and Foley both squandered early chances to score before Kian Spence eventually headed Barrow into the lead by converting Dom Telford’s deflected cross in the 22nd minute.

Foley then saw his shot deflect over the bar from the edge of the box as the Bluebirds pushed for a second.

But they were punished in first-half stoppage time when a cross from Jodi Jones was met by Aaron Nemane who side-footed the ball into the net at the back post.

Barrow started the second half on the front foot, but it was Notts County who had the clearer cut chances to score a winning goal.

In the end, the points were shared as Barrow added another point to their Sky Bet League Two tally.

Speaking to the Club website post-match, Foley said: “We’re happy with the point. Coming away is always difficult especially at a club like this.

“They’ve been on a good run and play some nice football with the ball, so we knew it was always going to be a difficult game, but we pride ourselves on being solid out of possession.

“We did a lot of work in the lead up to the game making sure that we were disciplined and solid.

“There were times where we looked really threatening on the break and probably could have had a couple more goals.

“It’s important at this time of the year that our levels stay high and that we’re consistent. We’re in a great position but we need to carry on picking up points.”
