BARROW AFC midfielder Robbie Gotts has been told to 'push forward' by boss Pete Wild after netting his first goal of the season.

The 24-year-old scored the Bluebirds opener at Holker Street in their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Lee Bell's Crewe Alexandra.

This was Gotts' first goal of the season and more evidence of the work going into giving Barrow's midfield a greater goal threat.

Already this season goals have come from these midfield areas with Kian Spence and Dean Campbell contributing five and three goals respectively and ahead of the Bluebirds trip to Meadow Lane to take on Notts County Wild challenged Gotts to add more goals to his game.

He said: "We always talk about how it is not one person's responsibility to score all the goals.

"It is a team responsibility to check in and I had had a one-to-one with Robbie the week before and we had talked about how he needed to add three, four goals to his game to help us.

"The more he scores the better the team does so we are really pleased that Rob has got off the mark and hopefully that gives him the confidence to push forward."
