BARROW AFC are not expecting to do any more business in the January transfer window, according to boss Pete Wild.

After a busy summer transfer window which saw Barrow make ten first-team additions and a host of signings for its B team, it was expected to be a quiet January for the Bluebirds.

However, following the loan departures of forward Courtney Duffus and Ged Garner to Hartlepool and Morecambe respectively, the Bluebirds were monitoring potential incomings and were subsequently able to complete the acquisition of 29-year-old striker Cole Stockton from Burton Albion.

Stockton could now be handed his Barrow debut at Holker Street against Crewe Alexandra and Wild explained how the club was ready to 'pounce' if the right recruitment opportunities arose, particularly in forward areas.

He said: "We have to wait for opportunities like January where we can pounce.

"We have to be financially savvy with how we can keep ourselves in the running for strikers."

The signing of Cole Stockton looks to be the only business the Bluebirds will be doing in the January window with Wild confirming that the club is not expecting to be making any more moves in the market.

He said: "No, weren't expecting to do anything so that is certainly us.

"I am going to have my phone turned off."
