BARROW AFC have signed Cole Stockton on loan until the end of the season.

The Burton Albion striker is delighted to get the deal done as he looks to get more game time.

The former Morecambe man only joined the Brewers in the summer, but has found opportunities hard to come by.

Stockton certainly knows where the net is – having netted 38 goals over two seasons with the Shrimps.

Speaking about his move to Barrow AFC’s official website, he said: “I’m excited to get going now.

“It’s been a long, but felt like a quick process to get everything sorted and it was a no-brainer for me to get back playing and get back enjoying [my football].”

Asked what attracted him to the Cumbrians, the 29-year-old added: “It’s just everything I’ve heard about the club and the direction it’s going in now.

“Everyone to do with the club has worked incredibly hard to get the club to where it is now and I’m looking forward to being a part of that and helping push the club forward.”

Bluebirds’ sporting director, Iain Wood added: “It’s an excellent signing.

“He’s experienced, he wants to come here to get back playing and enjoying football and scoring goals.

“He’s a proven goal scorer at this level and above, and location-wise as well it always fits us.

“I think it shows how far the club has come, just because Barrow couldn’t have been linked with someone like Cole back in the day as it would have been completely unachievable.

“We’re signing a player like Cole Stockton who striker-wise could be in his prime and strikers aren’t easy to come by.

“We’re signing someone and have already signed someone that has a similar record in Dom Telford.

“Having Cole and Dom come to Barrow is no small feat really.”
