BARROW AFC should take nothing for granted when they play host to Crewe Alexandra this weekend.

The Bluebirds proved too strong for The Railwaymen when the two sides clashed at the Mornflake Stadium on December 22.

Wild’s men emerged as 3-1 victors one the night, but the Barrow manager will expect Crewe to coming looking to get even on Saturday.

Lee Bell’s men have been in fine form this season and currently sit fifth in the League Two table – one place and two points behind the Bluebirds.

And Wild has been impressed with how they have gone about their business, particularly their unwillingness to throw in the towel.

Speaking about the visitors to Holker Street this weekend, he said: “He added: “One of Crewe’s biggest attributes is their ‘never-say-die’ attitude.

“A lot of times when they have been down in games they have either come back to draw or come back to win, so we are expecting a really tough encounter.

“If you give them time and give them space they can really hurt you.

“We have to be highly respectful of what Crewe offer and we have to make sure our defensive plan stops what Crewe offer.”

Wild said ahead of the meeting with Crewe back in December that Bell’s side offered a threat on dead-ball situations.

And he expects that they could use that weapon to their advantage should Barrow fail to match them.

He added: “We need to make sure we are good on set-pieces.

“Crewe are outstanding at set-pieces, so that could be a key factor in the game.”
