BARROW AFC boss Pete Wild has been hit with a two-game touchline ban.

The Bluebirds manager will now sit out Saturday’s game with Sutton United and next weekend’s encounter with Crewe Alexandra at Holker Street.

A statement on the club’s official website said: “Barrow AFC can confirm Manager Pete Wild has been handed a two-game touchline ban and fined following our SkyBet League Two clash against Accrington Stanley on December 29.

“The club can confirm Wild has admitted to the charge and has accepted the standard penalty, meaning he won’t be in the dugout for our next two clashes against Sutton United and Crewe Alexandra.”

Wild made clear his feelings after the draw with Stanley, stating: “It’s very clear and obvious and yet again for the second game in a row we don’t have the standard of officiating the fans and the football club deserve.

“But unfortunately, a stonewall penalty again. Unfortunately, decisions made by the officials were questionable, to say the least.”

Those comments landed him in hot water with the FA – their statement read: “Barrow AFC’s manager Pete Wild has been charged with misconduct following their EFL League Two game against Accrington Stanley FC on Friday, December 29, 2023.

“It’s alleged that his behaviour and/or language was improper and/or abusive and/or insulting towards a match official, prior to kick-off.

“It’s further alleged that his language and/or behaviour towards a match official was improper and/or abusive and/or insulting and/or questioned the integrity of a match official, following the conclusion of the fixture.”
