BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild and defender George Ray have been nominated for EFL League Two manager and player of the month respectively.

The Bluebirds enjoyed a historic November in which they won four out of four league fixtures and charged up to third in the fourth tier, five points behind leaders Stockport County.

On this run, Barrow defeated Bradford City, Crawley Town, Colchester United, and Walsall.

In addition, Wild's side equaled a club record EFL winning run stretching back to 1967 by recording five consecutive league wins.

George Ray was one of Wild's first signings in the 2022 summer transfer window, weeks after his appointment, with the then 29-year-old defender joining from Exeter City on a two-year deal.

Since pulling on the Barrow jersey, Ray has been a stalwart of Wild's defence and in November this was no different, with the central defender forming a key part of a defensive unit that kept two clean sheets and conceded two goals in the month.

The 30-year-old also played a key role in Barrow''s offensive play in November, contributing three goals and an assist.
