BARROW AFC boss Pete Wild has thanked Bluebirds supporters for their 'unbelievable' support ahead of their FA Cup second-round clash.

The Holker Street faithful have relentlessly backed their side and watched them record their best run of league form since the late 1960s, however, this has also come hand in hand with some gruelling away trips, with the latest being an away-day at Colchester.

Today, the Bluebirds supporters face a 12-hour round trip to Kent to watch Wild's side in FA Cup second-round action against Maidstone United and to thank their fans for their unwavering support, Barrow AFC staff and players have sponsored a coach that will take fans to the Gallagher Stadium.

Ahead of the clash, Wild spoke about the incredible support his side has been receiving in recent weeks.

He said: "What they are doing is absolutely unbelievable, travelling up and down every week.

"They came out at Colchester last week, and there was 30-odd of them and their support is unbelievable and undeniable with how good they are, how vocal they are.

"We are going to need that again this weekend and we are going to need them to get behind us and drive us on, because it is going to be one of those games where everyone of a Barrow nature needs to be pulling in the same direction.

"That is one of the main reasons why the staff and players have sponsored a coach going down to Maidstone on Saturday because we completely appreciate what they are doing for us at the moment."
