PETE Wild wants his Barrow AFC side to be 'confident but not arrogant' when they take on Maidstone United in the FA Cup second round.

The Bluebirds make the six-and-a-half hour trip to the Gallagher Stadium off the back of a historic 2-0 victory against Walsall during the week which saw the Bluebirds record their fifth consecutive league victory for the first time since the late 1960s and move into the automatic promotion places.

Barrow's opponents, Maidstone, under the management of former Wolves defender George Elokobi are also flying in the National League South, currently second-placed after winning three of their last five.

Ahead of the cup clash, Wild detailed what he is expecting from the sixth-tier side.

He said: "We have been watching them, we have been watching them all week and we feel like, number one, they are on a fantastic run of form, they look strong in their division.

"They have got some real good individual players that are causing problems at that level, they have got players who can dribble the ball, they have got a big centre forward who is scoring lots of goals and lots of different types of goals so they have got some real threats and what comes with that is that they are in a good vain of form and confidence must be high in their group."

Wild also explained how he wants his side to continue their good run of form without becoming 'arrogant' when they face the National League South side.

"I think it is just more of the same, I think as a player, and a member of staff, when you are in a good vain of form it is very easy to try and keep going.

"My biggest task, for everyone in the football club is to make sure we are confident but not arrogant."
