BARROW AFC youngster Luca Stephenson's 'maturity' has been highlighted by boss Pete Wild.

Stephenson, who is on-loan from Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, impressed once again in the Bluebirds' blue and white as Wild's side recorded their fourth league win in five against Crawley Town at Holker Street.

The 20-year-old, in the latest of his 13 Barrow appearances, against Scott Lindsey's Red Devils recorded five final third passes, five out of five aerial duels, and seven clearances.

Stephenson has also started in four of the last five games in all competitions, a clear show of Wild's trust in the youngster, and ahead of the Bluebirds' trip to Colchester United, the Barrow boss piled the praise on his player.

He said: "He has come from Liverpool, he has got to have some talent to get through the door at Liverpool.

"He has a maturity, he doesn't look fazed, he doesn't look panicked and all of those are really good things and that is why our recruitment team were so big on him coming in and so heavy on him coming in.

"He has come and delivered on that side and he will keep learning.

"He has got some really experienced lads around him who can talk and help him through the game and that can only help us."

Wild also detailed how the versatile youngster has played his way into his plans and explained where he believes his best position is in the Bluebirds side.

He said:" He has moulded into playing as a right-wing back at the moment for us. We think he is playing well there and we like what he does there and how he goes about his business there.
