BARROW AFC left-back Junior Tiensia is still 'three months' away from a return to first-team action, Peter Wild has confirmed.

The 22-year-old full-back had his flying start to life at Barrow cut short by an ankle injury he sustained in Bluebirds' 2-2 draw with MK Dons in October.

The latest update on the Barrow defender's fitness also comes a matter of weeks after Tiensia underwent surgery on the issue.

"Junior has had his surgery and is still probably three months away, but he has got a review tomorrow and hopefully he can then start doing some light work," Pete Wild said.

Despite the continued absence of the Barrow left-back, Wild did provide a positive update on the fitness of his squad as they prepare to travel nearly 330 miles to take on Colchester United at the Jobserve Community Stadium.

However, the Bluebirds could be without one of their forwards for the clash with Matty Etherington's side.

He said: "Everybody is back, Ged [Garner] is 50/50 for the weekend with a sore calf and then we have just got the long-term injuries with Ty [Warren] and Junior [Tiensia]."
