THE Barrow AFC Supports Trust have been praised by the Club for their ‘fantastic’ tifo on display before their 1-0 win against Morecambe.

The banner on show at the Holker Street End of the SO Legal Stadium read: ‘Your Nightmare On Holker St’.

Barrow AFC also thanked the fans for their 'tremendous' support as Dom Telford's first half strike in the 29th minute secured the bragging rights in the eagerly anticipated derby.

Alisha Henry, Chief Operating Officer at Barrow AFC said: “Following on from Tuesday night’s game I wanted to congratulate all those associated with The Bluebirds Trust for a fantastic pre-match display.

“That kind of support doesn’t go unnoticed, and I have no doubt that when the lads saw the display walking out of the tunnel, they would have been proud to be a part of this great football club.

“A special mention needs to be given to both Steve and Ronan, whose hard work and vision came to life and looked spectacular. Hopefully, it’s something we can look forward to seeing again in the future.”

The Bluebirds Trust was founded in 2014 around the time when the Club was taken into private ownership following a period as a members club.

“The relationship between the club and The Trust has been improving rapidly over the last few months so I felt it was necessary to put out my record of thanks," Alisha added.

“The support you showed on Tuesday night was truly tremendous, and the support throughout the duration of the season, both home and away has been great.

“As a whole Tuesday was a really special day for the football club and you the fans were a massive part of that.

“Long may it continue. I will see you all at the Liverpool game on Tuesday.”
