BARROW AFC goalkeeper Paul Farman's 'outstanding qualities' have been recognised by boss Pete Wild after the Bluebirds' 2-0 victory against Forest Green Rovers.

The Barrow shot-stopper made an undeniable contribution to the Bluebirds' midweek victory at the New Lawn Stadium with six vital saves as Wild's side endured wave after wave of attack from the Green Devils.

This result also represented Farman's fourth clean sheet in all competitions this season and was his second in as many league games after the Bluebirds' 0-0 stalemate with AFC Wimbledon.

Barrow now prepares to welcome Neil Wood's Salford City to Holker Street and ahead of this clash Wild piled the praise on his goalkeeper.

He said: "You need your goalkeeper in every half of every game and we needed ours on Tuesday night.

"It just shows again his outstanding qualities, he is unbelievable between the sticks and he made some unbelievable saves and his attributes get better every year.

"He is a more calm version of Paul this year which is fantastic and the saves he makes are fantastic and don't go unnoticed.

"He deserves all the praise he gets from the lads."
