BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild believes that the Bluebirds have had a 'ground-breaking' Ocotber after their victory against Forest Green Rovers.

Despite the win against the Green Devils being the Bluebirds' first victory of the month, Barrow have taken six points from five games so far, with stalemates against Notts County, MK Dons, and AFC Wimbledon.

Barrow's only defeat in Ocotber came at the beginning of the month in their controversial 2-1 defeat against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

The Bluebirds finish the month with a Holker Street double-header against Salford City and Morecambe, and speaking ahead of the clash with the Ammies, Wild expressed his delight with his side's Ocotber which was enhanced by the victory at the New Lawn Stadium on Tuesday night.

He said: "I was really pleased that the result matched the lad's efforts [against Forest Green],

"I think we have had a really good month. I think we have had a ground-breaking month and it was really nice to win on the road and I look at where we are in the league and our points tally more importantly and we are bang on track and that win puts us bang on track again.

"It keeps everybody solid and keeps everybody moving in the right direction and I love every win, and I am pleased with every win we get but winning on the road is even more important."

Wild also issued his final verdict on the victory against David Horseman's side during the week.

He said: "You look back a month ago at the start of the month we went to Grimsby, completely dominated and got beat 2-1 where it was completely the role reversal on Tuesday night.

"Forest Green had control of the game and had a lot of the ball and we had to do a lot of defending.

"We needed our goalkeeper on several occasions and we came away with a 2-0 win.

"That's football, that's how it goes sometimes and we have to go win games where we don't have the ball which is unlike us this season."
