BARROW AFC midfielder Sam Foley has been called a 'top lad' by boss Pete Wild.
The 36-year-old signed for the Bluebirds in June 2022 from fellow League Two side Tranmere Rovers as the fourth signing of Wild's managerial reign.
The veteran midfielder made 39 league appearances for the Bluebirds in his debut season and remains an integral part of Barrow's midfield set-up despite the arrivals of dynamic midfield duo Dean Campbell and Kian Spence.
Foley came off the bench in the Bluebirds' 2-1 mid-week defeat against Grimsby Town and netted Barrow's consolation on the night, with this being evidence of the midfielder's unrelenting commitment according to Wild.
He said: "Sam is great, he knows sometimes he will get used in different roles and in different ways and when he has come off the bench this year he has had a real impact for us and he has given us a real sort of drive.
"I am really pleased with how Sam is on and off the pitch and around the club.
"He is a top lad, he gives us so much and I can use him in a variety of ways on the pitch which is always great to see so I am really pleased with Sam."
