BARROW Raiders’ second-half improvement delighted Paul Crarey as his side came from 6-0 down to beat Hunslet 12-6 at the South Leeds Stadium yesterday.

Raiders went into half-time down but Tee Ritson and Ryan Duffy scored tries in five second-half minutes with Jake Carter converting both to make it 12-6.

The Raiders saw out the win to make it two from two following last week’s defeat of Workington.

Head coach Crarey said: “I thought second-half we dominated a very good game.

“Hunslet had a top starting 13 against us and we conceded an early try after neat play from them. After that we held firm, which away from home is a difficult thing to do especially after Hunslet put 34 points onto North Wales. We’re in a good place, mentally and physically. We had 22 sets and only dropped two in the second half and really smartened ourselves up and came with some really good game-breaking tries. I am really proud with how the lads have dealt with this difficult period.”
