New Barrow boss Michael Jolley is excited to work with star striker Scott Quigley.

The former Blackpool forward fired the Bluebirds back to the Football League for the first time since 1972 with an impressive 20-goal haul in the National League last term.

And he’s finally hit his straps in League Two with four goals in his last four outings.

Quigley ensured Jolley’s tenure at Holker Street started with a point as his penalty secured a share of the spoils against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.

And former Grimsby gaffer Jolley said: “Well done, full credit to Scott. Four in four is very good at whatever level you’re playing.

“It’s credit to Scott, he’s really growing into his role.

“I think he’s a focal point for the team, he’s a threat and a real handful.

“He takes a lot of heat on behalf of the team.

“I’m delighted with him and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

The Bluebirds will go into the New Year full of confidence after seven points from a possible nine over the festive period.

Jolley’s outfit are three points above the dreaded drop zone back to non-league football.

And they host Exeter City tomorrow looking to go four games unbeaten for only the second time this season.
