BARROW Raiders have had a busy week with re-signings going on constantly.

Tom Hopkins, Adam Ford, Jake Carter, Mark Tyson, and Carl McBain have all signed new contracts with their club to keep them on board.

Hopkins has a two year extension and the other three have a year extension to their deals.

Andy Gaffney, director of rugby at Barrow Raiders, said: "In regard to Tom and Adam, they both came up from the amateur ranks and really stepped up to the plate.

"They have a great attitude and a great work ethic on and off the pitch.

"Adam came through the academy and has managed to cement himself into the squad

"Mark made a strong impression during the pre-season friendlies. He is hoping to cement his position in 2021.

"Jake is a great young talent to have on board as well.

"Alongside Ryan Johnston we may well have provided ourselves with the half-back pairing for the next decade.

"He always keeps himself in great shape and follows the programmes we give him which is great to see in a young player."

Barrow Raiders were delighted to announce their most recent re-signings yesterday in of Carl McBain on a one year deal. Carl's challenge is to pick up where he left off and force his way in the line up with some strong competition in the front row.

"He really deserves this contract," Andy Gaffney said.

"He never takes a backward step and he is a no thrills forward that is not afraid to do the hard work. He does his talking on the pitch and does the work off the pitch as well.

"His attitude was great when he came in and it is great to have him on board."
