Pulse Soccer in Barrow is one of two venues in Cumbria that will be part of a nationwide football festival being held in the build-up to Euro 2020.

The Football Association have launched the FA Fives, which is set to be the nation's largest and most inclusive five-a-side tournament, with over 5,000 teams and 50,000 participants set to enter across 15 categories.

Along with Soccer World, Pulse will host the two local tournaments in the county and they will be just two of 120 venues hosting events on May 2-3, with teams looking to progress to one of five festival-style regionals that will take place on May 30-31.

These regional finals will take place in Sunderland, Manchester, Rugby, Yeovil and Elmbridge in Surrey.

The FA Fives will then climax with the National Finals in the shadows of Wembley Stadium on June 12-13, the weekend Euro 2020 kicks off, including England's opening group game against Croatia.

Former England international Rio Ferdinand, who is an ambassador for Euro 2020, said: “If having the chance to watch England on home soil this summer wasn’t exciting enough, people all over the country can now dust off their boots and get involved in a football festival of their own.

“It’s great to support such an inclusive initiative - one that’s completely free to enter and has provision for so many different people."
