Barrow AFC have tied down another of their players to a new contract, after striker Dior Angus signed an extended deal with the club.

Angus has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Holker Street until the end of the 2020/21 season, with the option of a further year.

The news comes 24 hours after Angus opened the scoring in the Bluebirds' 2-0 win over Bromley on what was his 26th birthday.

It put him up to 11 goals in what is his first full season at AFC after he turned his loan spell from Port Vale into a permanent move last summer.

Since ending a 14-game goal drought at the start of the campaign against Bromley in October, Angus has been a regular on the scoresheet for Barrow and has formed a potent partnership with Scott Quigley up front.

The son of former Northampton and Fulham defender Terry Angus began his career at Solihull Moors before signing for Kidderminster while still a teenager, following loans at Leamington and Banbury.

He then returned to Solihull and took in spells at Daventry Town and Stratford Town before a prolific start to the 2017/18 season at Redditch United attracted the attention of Port Vale, who signed him in January 2018.

A lack of game time led to him regaining his form in front of goal while on loan at Nuneaton Borough, before his initial arrival at the Bluebirds in January of last year.
