Furness fell to a 22-14 defeat against fellow strugglers Silloth in Cumbria Division One last Saturday, as they were unable to keep up their recent good home form.

The Blues had won their previous three games at the Strawberry Grounds, but couldn't reproduce their performances from those matches against a team who had previously won just once this season, despite scoring tries through Dan Sayle and Dale Lambton.

It was a happier day for Windermere, however, as they made it back-to-back wins by winning 31-8 at bottom side Creighton, with centre Moses Dawson scoring two of their five tries.

It was a close contest at half-time, with the Ambers 12-3 ahead against their battling hosts, but further scores by fly-half Bertie Hodgson, who also kicked three penalties, lock Josh Dawson and winger Bobby Davis allowed them to record a comfortable victory.

It was also their first on the road this season and they'll look to make it a hat-trick of victories at home to Carlisle Crusaders this weekend.

Millom had an afternoon they will want to quickly put behind them, as their depleted side was put to the sword 97-0 by the in-form Upper Eden at Wilson Park.

Barrovian rugby league convert Ryan Shaw started at outside centre for Yorkshire Carnegie, whose miserable start to the Greene King IPA Championship season continued with a 45-12 thumping at Hartpury, their tries from James Flynn and Tom Varndell.
