Barrow AFC striker Scott Quigley is hoping the two consecutive wins his side have racked up in recent weeks is just the start as they look to continue their improving form at Ebbsfleet United this afternoon.
With their next two games coming against the bottom two teams in the the National League - the Fleet and Chorley - the next week represents a big chance for the Bluebirds to make it four league wins in a row for the first time since April 2016.
One of the reasons for their recent upturn is the defence not giving away quite so many opportunities to the opposition, which Quigley believing the recent loan arrival of Blackburn centre-back Matt Platt has influenced.
Quigley said: “I thought we just needed to close up shop a little bit more because you can't expect to win 4-3 every week.
"I don't like picking people out, but I think Platty has come in and done really well. He's sort of shored things up at the back and given a positive outlook on the whole of the team.
"After the past week, it's sort of exposed things and people can see now that hopefully this is the start of us hitting some good form.
Quigley is pleased with how AFC sticking to their principles during their dodgy start to the season has paid off, saying: "The manager was saying 'stick with us, it will get better,' and it has.
"The gaffer said Aldershot last year was where it all changed and it has this year as well, hopefully."
