After two wins from two so far this season, Hawcoat Park are heading north today as they take on bottom club Creighton in Cumbria Division One.

Hawcoat’s convincing 44-10 win at home to local rivals Millom last week has them in good fettle for the game, although there is likely to be further changes due to unavailable players.

It’s the same up front with Scott Dobbie, Andy Kent and John Donnan likely to be key with Corey Doughty looking to be in the second row.

Lee Van Haron is hopeful of getting over his calf strain to join Alfie White and Grady Slater in a dominant back row.

Lewis Sayle continues at scrum-half and links up with George Smith, who will want to get the backline away with hat-trick hero from last week Rodney Odondi looking to build on his three tries against Millom.

The Maroon and Whites will be up against a Creighton side who have only scored five points across the first two games, with their opening day 67-0 home defeat against Cockermouth being followed up with a 43-5 loss at Workington last week.

Millom will be welcoming St Benedicts to Wilson Park in what is surely going to be clash of the titans

With Millom’s tight five and Bennies’ pacey back division, it could well be the game of the weekend.

Millom will be looking to be virtually unchanged from last week’s team who were defeated on the road at local friends and rivals Hawcoat Park in which they were outgunned but not overawed against a team who were in a higher division last season.

Steve Watson and Ian Cumming will prop up the front three from the off. Keiran Coulson’s bout of sickness should have passed so he will be chomping at the bit to get a piece of the action.

Joe Laydon and Matty Jordan will need plenty of time on the ball to help get the backline good ball, with Trevor Dixon always on hand looking to release Chris Park, Simon Robertson and Joe Fisher.

Millom will be up against a St Benedicts side who should be well rested after Furness couldn’t raise a team to play them last week, while for Millom, they’ll be looking for a repeat performance on their own patch from the one that allowed them to open with a 12-7 win against Workington two weeks ago.
