Last year’s snooker champions British Legion A head the Barrow Friday League table again after taking all three points away to the club’s home team in the latest round of fixtures.

Dave Simpson took the first game of the night with a 57-29 win over Ray Gardner before captain John Tyerman played well in taking his game against Mike Smith 68-26.

Billy Burns and Jack Arnold contested the final game and there was only one point in it with four balls left. Burns fluked the brown before potting the blue and pink to win a good high scoring game 75-63.

Navy Club stay in second place with a good 3-0 home result over Vickerstown Cricket Club. Joe O’Leary took the top man’s game with 54-40 result over Josh Francis, before Andy Charnley beat Jimmy Allen 64-38.

Dave Wilkie and Stuart Benson then burned the midnight oil in a black ball decider, with Wilkie coming out the victor 55-48 to seal the whitewash.

Barrow Football Supporters Club took two good away points against Roose Cons with wins for Tony Mason, who beat Dave Kewley 57-31, and Harry Bateman, who won by a similar scoreline against Nick Wilkes 58-24.

Lee Majors pulled a point back for the home side with some brilliant potting and consistent teen breaks and a 20 break to win 70-18 against Adam Cook.

Navy Club lead the billiards table after a 3-0 home win against Vickerstown CC. Geoff Turner, with the help of two 22 breaks, got the better of the Cricketer’s captain Gareth Willis 100-57, supported well by Paul Kyle and John Clamp, who beat David Holmes and Peter Scott, respectively.

British Legion A stay second but lost out against their first team, who are last year’s winners. Allan Edmondson took the first game with a 20 break, which allowed him to take the first game 100-92.

Kevin Quinn took the second frame comfortably 100-55 against Paul Fieldhouse before the last game between Alf Carruthers and Steve Hetherington went down to the wire with Hetherington coming out the victor 100-95.

Barrow Football Supporters Club came away with a 2-1 away win against Roose Cons, with Harry Bateman coming out a 100-59 winner against Rob Chissim and Denis Plant backed him up with a 100-76 win against Mike Irvine.
