Dan Adams took four wickets as Barrow 2nd XI defeated Cleator 2nd XI by 42 runs in Division Two of the Cumbria Cricket League last Sunday.

Barrow were put in to bat after losing the toss and posted 148-9 from their 40 overs with opener Jack Hill-Eades’ 39 being backed up by a vital 37 not out from number nine Pranav Singh.

In response, Cleator could only manage 106-9 in reply as Adams claimed 4-36 while Lewis Bayman chipped in with 3-19.

Dalton 2nd XI claimed a thrilling three-run victory DLS against Ulverston 2nd XI with 65 from Glyn Caine helping the hosts to 129-9 from their 40 overs.

Rain led to Ulverston’s target being adjusted to 56 from 15 overs and they fell agonisingly short for the loss of four wickets despite 24 from Ajish Kumpukkal.

The local derby between Haverigg 2nd XI and Millom 2nd XI was abandoned with Haverigg on 14-1 after six overs in reply to Millom’s 72 all out.
