Barrow fell to a three-wicket defeat at home to Chorley in the Northern Premier League last Saturday despite an excellent all-round performance from Toby Mowat at Ernest Pass.

After being put in to bat, having lost the toss, Barrow struggled to make enough runs, with only Mowat's 53 from opener proving of any frustration to the Chorley bowlers.

The hosts were bowled out for 117, as Edwin Moulton and Keiran McCullagh both took 3-28 for the visitors, but Barrow's attack made a good attempt at defending their low total.

Asked to bat first, only wicketkeeper Callum Sutton made above 20 as he added 50 as part of Workington's 120 all out, with Fraser Conn and Henry Walker both taking three wickets.

Carlisle lost Mike Slack early in their reply, but Ben Davidson and captain Brown finished unbeaten on 41 and 70, respectively, to help them to a championship-securing victory with 20 overs to spare.

Due to rain, Dalton's target was reduced to 201 from 37 overs, but they were all out for 173 in the 34th over.

The wet weather led to Lindal Moor's match against Cockermouth at Pennington Lane being abandoned, with the visitors 204-3 at the time, leaving captain Alex Grainger stranded on 89 not out, after Marcus Stables had made 60.

Cleator hammered Wigton by 228 runs after they skittled the visitors for 57, with David Blackwell taking 6-31, in reply to an imposing 285-5, which included 71 from opener Darren Clark and 70 from Supeshala Jayathilake.
