After another frustrating afternoon for the Bluebirds, Ian Evatt was left to rue his side's lack of consistency as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against FC Halifax Town.

Evatt said: "We've said a lot in the dressing room. I've said what I've got to say because things have got to change. It's the same patterns, the same things. We should never have lost that game and at the moment we are just finding ways to lose games.

"The problem we have got is that it's not the same people. It's different people every week who are making massively costly individual errors and we need to be better. Maybe I've got to stop protecting them and look at myself and see where I need to better, where we need to strengthen the team and just do it.”

With the Bluebirds more than matching their opponents once again, Evatt believes it has to be a problem with his side’s mentality as they let another lead slip.

“I think the problem has to be mental, football is 95 per cent mental," he said. "It’s how much belief you have, how much confidence you have and how brave you are.

"Not just bravery in terms of running around kicking people, but in terms of having the ball in tight, pressure situations when you're hanging on a bit.

"We go through spells, we're not consistent in our behavioural patterns and we need to look at that.”

Despite a disappointing result, Evatt was keen to take positives from their performances as they prepare to travel to Woking.

He said: “The positives are that we haven’t been outplayed in any game, we have more than held our own for certain spells.

"We will be back on the training ground tomorrow, we'll sit through the pain of watching it back, see what went wrong and go to Woking looking to get a result.”
