Former Askam junior Jacques O’Neill has signed a new one-year contract with Super League club Castleford Tigers after a season in which he’s made his first-team debut.
The 20-year-old played for the Tigers’ senior side for the first time when he came off the bench in their fourth game of the campaign against Hull Kingston Rovers.
O’Neill has since gone on to make seven first team appearances, the most recent coming against Hull KR again last Sunday.
O’Neill said: “Every time I’ve played I’ve enjoyed it more and more but this deal doesn’t make me feel any more comfortable, I’ve just got to keep working hard and keep chasing Macca (Paul McShane) and Adz (Adam Milner) for a place in the team.”
