Barrow & District League leaders Dalton have a home game against bottom-of-the-table Barrow Island A tonight, which they will be expected to win comfortably.

The Island, who have been fielding several under-16s of late, will be looking to push Dalton all the way, however.

Second-placed Walney Central A travel to Ulverston A, where a win for the Dragley Beck boys would move them into fourth place in the league. Millom have no game due to Askam not being able to field a team.

The Harry Warman Cup saw the league’s top two sides Dalton and Walney go through to the final last week.

Walney played some splendid rugby in the first half against Millom going into a 30-4 half time lead, but the visitors stepped up a gear in the second half, stopping Walney from scoring.

They crossed the whitewash themselves with a Dylan Sykes try after Hadley Thompson had scored in the first half. Adam Ford, Corri McAllister (2), Matt Henderson, Adam Nicholson and Josh Holmes were the Walney try scorers in their 35-12 win.

Ulverston were no match for Dalton as the Kelland Park outfit ran in 11 tries in their 56-4 victory. Dave John got the Ulverston try, while Ryan Baines (2), Harry Gordon, Sam Purslow (2), Scott Paisley, Tyler Batty (2), Josh Graham, Evan Jones and Brad Richards were all on the mark for Dalton, with Joe Crarey landing six goals.
