Hawcoat Park recorded an impressive 8-3 win against Biggar Bank in the Furness and District Women’s Bowling League last week.
Captain Maureen Ratcliffe led by example for Hawcoat with an excellent 21-3 victory and their reserve Jan Kaighan played her part in winning 21-2. Sheila Burns had the best win for Biggar Bank taking her game 21-8.
Ulverston Cons fought off the challenge from King Alfred who won four games but Ulverston were too strong for them, eventually winning 7-4, with good wins for Audrey Silvester, Gillian Balderstone and Angela Athersmith.
Walney Park and North Scale had a very close match which went to North Scale by four chalks after the games had been shared six apiece.
Co-op produced an impressive performance as they defeated Dalton 8-3, while Askam ran out 7-4 winners against Roose in the other fixture.
