Watson's Boxing Fitness youngsters Ethan Brierly and Ellis Young were both in action last Thursday as part of a Coastal ABC show at Morecambe.

For 11-year-old Young, it was a very successful evening, as he won every round of his contest with a performance that impressed everyone in attendance.

It was the second time in recent times that Young had shown nous beyond his tender years as he was also controlled his previous bout from start to finish.

Brierly, 15, was up against the hometown club's Noel Jones in what was a rematch of a previous fight from April 27 in Droylsden, where he fought back very hard to come back from losing the first round to win on a split decision.

Coach Ryan Watson felt Brierly boxed extremely well on that occasion to get himself out of trouble and showed greats signs that he can fight back from behind.

This time Jones came out on top via a unanimous decision, but it was another close fight and their clash was unquestionably the fight of the night, with both young boxers given a standing ovation at the end of the final round due to the quality on show.

Former world lightweight champion Anthony Crolla was special guest at the event and told former pro Watson that both Brierly and Young have a lot of potential.

The two youngsters were also able to have their photo taken with Crolla on another night where they showed their promise.
